Milestones

  1. 1958

    Founded as a craftsmen’s production cooperative.

  2. 1961

    Production shifts to electrical engineering/electronics; repair of television and radio sets, installation of operating, radio and security systems.

  3. 1963

    Start of production of analogue measuring instruments; equipping all schools in the GDR with POLYTEST/UNITEST measuring instruments.

  4. 1964

    Renamed “Simeto” — Signal-, Mess- und Tongeräte (signal, measuring and audio equipment).

  5. 1970s/80s

    Main products: measuring instruments, control and regulation technology, vehicle heaters, electromagnetic pickups, mixing consoles for electric guitars, fuel senders.

  6. 1990

    Reprivatisation with more than 250 employees.

  7. 1991

    Focus on cable assembly and PCB assembly with 35 employees.

  8. 1997

    Introduction of the quality management system according to DIN EN ISO 9002.

  9. 1999

    Expansion of production: injection moulding, hotmelt technology, rapid prototyping.

  10. 2003

    Move to a new production building.

  11. 2006

    Certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2008.

  12. 2007

    Foundation of SIMETO kabelové systémy s.r.o. — site in the Czech Republic.

  13. 2008

    Reintroduction of winding goods production.

  14. 2010

    Modernisation: approx. 5,000 m² of premises, approx. 4,000 m² of production area.

  15. 2014

    Process audits according to the UL standard.

  16. 2015

    Certification according to DIN EN ISO 14001:2004.

  17. 2018

    Foundation of SIMETO Cablaj Sistems s.r.l. in Romania.

  18. 2024

    Acquisition of a magnetic coil manufacturer.
